Who are the Maryland Micro-Credentials for Creative Classrooms for?

Maryland Micro-Credentials for Creative Classrooms is a statewide professional learning institute for Maryland arts educators, teaching artists, and arts institutions. Successful completion will result in a Professional Endorsement from the Maryland State Arts Council for Community Arts Providers or Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credit from the Maryland State Department of Education for Arts Educators.


What is the cost of a Maryland Micro-Credentials for Creative Classrooms course?

All courses offered through Maryland Micro-Credentials for Creative Classrooms are free for all participants.


Why can’t I get CPD credit for the Pre-K - 12 courses?

Maryland Educators will not be eligible to receive CPD credit for the Early Childhood Classrooms, Elementary & Middle School Students, or High School Communities courses.

Maryland Micro-Credential courses do not align with Maryland certification requirements. For more information on Educator Certification, please visit the Maryland State Department of Education’s Educator Certification page.


What happens if I don’t pass my course?

Feedback will be provided at the end of the course explaining why we are unable to award you with a Micro-Credential endorsement or CPD credit at this time. All Maryland Micro-Credentials for Creative Classrooms are offered throughout the year and participants are welcome to register for the course again.

For current participants who feel that they are falling behind or are not on track, we encourage you to reach out to your instructor with your concerns.
